Northfield Veterinary Hospital

Veterinary diagnostics are some of the most important tools we use in veterinary medicine. They help us detect disease before there are physical symptoms. This allows us to treat your pet more effectively (and more affordably too) before the disease has time to progress.
BLOODWORK IN OUR IN-HOUSE LAB

Lab work is incredibly important in Veterinary Medicine. It helps us assess your pet’s internal health, including the functioning of organs. We often run blood work at your pet’s annual exam to maintain a complete medical history for them as well as establish their baseline health. Regular blood work also helps us in early detection of disease.

Common tests we run with our in-house lab include:

  • Complete blood count (CBCs)
  • Blood chemistry panels
  • Fecal tests
  • Skin scrapings
  • Heartworm test
  • Tick-borne illness screening
  • Feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus test

DIGITAL X-RAYS FOR DOGS & CATS

X-rays help us visualize your pet’s skeletal structure and abdomen. Unlike film X-rays, digital X-rays expose your pet to far less radiation and tend to take less time to produce. Plus, the image is crystal clear and in a digital format that we can easily share with you, or a specialist for a second opinion.

Digital X-ray is ideal for diagnosing:

  • Fractures
  • Injured or inflamed joints
  • Obstructions in the gastrointestinal tract
  • Heart and lung disease
  • Bone deformities
  • And more
